Analytical Service for Refrigerants, Oil and Glycols
To maintain the operational efficiency of a refrigeration or air conditioning system it is sensible to periodically check that the fluids in use are still within the design parameters required for satisfactory operation. Analysis can sometimes give an early indication of impending problems which could avoid breakdowns, prevent costly equipment failures, prolong equipment life and reduce energy costs.
Some of these checks can be made on site whilst others can be provided by IDS.
Depending on the system and its operating conditions a number of changes can occur.
Refrigerant can pick up moisture, acid or become contaminated because the wrong refrigerant is added to a system.
Oils provide essential lubrication for moving parts and will need to be changed at intervals recommended by the compressor manufacturer. Oil analysis can give an indication of viscosity changes, unusual wear, moisture levels and degradation.
Heat transfer fluids can become diluted or lose their effectiveness for a number of reasons.
Internal corrosion can occur if inhibitors are not used or become diluted or ineffective.
Cylinder tracking
At IDS we take the tracking of returnable cylinders very seriously which is why they are barcoded. The barcode allows us to not only track cylinders but assist our customers identify the cylinders they have by location. A monthly reports provides details of the location, cylinder numbers, cylinder size, product, delivery date, customer purchase order number and identifies those nearing the end of their free loan period. These reports can be emailed as an excel spreadsheet and can assist customers meet some of the requirements of the new F-Gas regulations. Our cylinder tracking software also allows us to keep track of cylinder retest requirements.

Technical Help and Advice
IDS offers its customers, technical help and advice on its complete product range with a wealth of knowledge gained from many years experience. Some of the technical data required can be found in the download section.
We have a wealth of experience relating to converting refrigeration systems from CFC and HCFC refrigerants to the non-ozone depleting replacements in particular the DuPont™ ISCEON® 9 Series Refrigerants, should you be thinking of doing a conversion, if you need extra information over above that on this site, it may be worth having an informal chat with our technical support department, who are well versed with all aspects of changing refrigerants.
